Thanks to the legendary winemakers who have been successfully producing wine in the area for centuries, Burgundy wines are known for their complexity, elegance, and depth of flavor. These wines are normally classified according to the area in which they are produced – with the most prestigious wines coming from the Côte d’Or region. The region is divided into smaller sub-regions, or appellations, each with its own distinct characteristics and regulations governing Burgundy wine production.
