This wine is not part of the Etna appellation, and the reason (I am quite sure) is because it is made from the red Nerello Mascalese grape fermented off the skins as a white wine instead. The wine shows volcanic tones of smoke and ash. It reveals a rather neutral bouquet after that. You can coax out some white grapefruit and mildly fragrant honeysuckle. The finish is crisp and bright and there is a touch of white licorice or aniseed as well. I like it, especially the mouthfeel.Largest Wine Storage Facility in Tampa / Ybor
