JM 99Domaine Jean Grivot is a vineyard in the Côte d’Or of Burgundy known for its aromatic Pinot Noir wines with rich tones and bright red fruit characteristics. Domaine Jean Grivot’s vineyards are planted to high densities, which encourages competition between the vines and consequently lowers yields. This “quality of quantity” approach is further enhanced by employing green harvesting techniques, which intentionally reduce the crop size to promote higher quality wines. Generally speaking. Grivot’s wines are matured in oak barrels for no less than 18 months. Wines are bottled the old fashioned way by relying on both lunar movements and atmospheric pressure. Domaine Jean Grivot was developed in the early 1900s by Gaston Grivot and is known as a pioneer for being one of the first Burgundy domaines to bottle and sell its own wines.
